Along with the first interpretation of the 2008 city budget, the Madison City Commission would now believe endorsement of a revised land clearing excavation ordinance during its meeting at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall. The excavation ordinance includes fees for city work, bond requirements, seasonal limitations and backfilling regulations.
In other business, the commissioners will: Hear an application at 5:35 p.m. regarding a different requested by Don Sterzinger for installing colored sheet siding and roofing on a new adding together to a business building at 311 S.W. 1st St.

Land clearing about 10 acres of along with Pierson Creek to make a "parklike" setting on Farm Road 193 would not start until the landowner submits required plans, Greene County storm water engineer Kevin Barnes said.
The land-clearing work being done with heavy equipment was stopped July 18 as the county had not issued a land trouble permit, Barnes said. There is no proof of stream bank wearing away in the stretch of creek situated a half-mile south of Farm Road 148, he stated.
