The city of Roseburg accomplished the purchase of the property it required for the new public safety center during February. The old buildings are at present either getting deconstructed by Heartwood ReSources or just getting moved off.
City Manager Eric Swanson stated he is expecting a bid to be awarded for site excavation land clearing and grading at the first City Council meeting during August. The actual site construction of the combined police-fire station would be awarded in December with work to start during 2008.
