Land Clearing Home -> Driveways & Roads

 • We always suggest to build the driveway at the same time we are building the pad for many reasons:
  • The trucks are bringing the same materials anyway.
• The trucks rolling in and out compacts the dirt.
• The dozer and equipment is already set up on site and there is no extra mobilization costs.
• Most of the time when it is to wet to get the trucks to the pad area we need to literally build the road with select fill to get them in. It takes more dirt but if time is of the essence there is no other choice.
• We place select fill (sandy/clay) on the ground, spread it, and roll it to get compaction.
We suggest for the select fill to be at least 5"- 6" thick.
• Options of crushed material: crushed concrete, crushed limestone, crushed asphalt, or crushed granite.
After doing this you can at a later time lay asphalt or pour concrete on top.
